Kind Words

We wanted to say a massive thank you! We are absolutely blown away by our photos and wedding album, it was so much more than we could have ever imagined.  Rhys & Joy

I found choosing who was going to be your photographers to be one of the most important decisions of the whole wedding. Mike and I, and the bridal party, had a blast during our photos because Debs and Dave created a relaxed and fun feeling; they captured the natural, real and intimate moments of our day. All the laughter and mucking around was real! We didn’t have a photographer telling us when to ‘laugh’. We completely trusted Debs and Dave.

We have absolutely no regrets – knowing that Debs and Dave were capturing the day meant we could just enjoy ourselves, and the only thing left behind after our wedding, the all important photos, would be amazing!  The range and diversity of photos is truly incredible. We are so happy and would recommend you in a heartbeat!  Mike & Rebecca

Deborah and Dave were fantastic to deal with. Deborah is incredibly versatile and can do whatever you want. We wanted something different, gave them our vision and they ran with it excitedly.

They are so easy to communicate with. We organised it all with them from a different country and then met up just before the day to go over everything. They are personable, friendly and listen. On the day they are everywhere! Not only were we impressed, but so many guests were too - and that was before anyone had seen the photos.

They made everyone look fantastic! The groom does not like his photo being taken, but with Deborah you could not tell this at all.  They are a perfect team and gave us the most stunning photos.  Micheal & Becs

Thank you so much for the most amazing photos ever!  Not only did you exceed our expectations with creativity and flare, you as photographers were awesome.  You were so professional yet relaxed and non-intrusive, taking photos was never a bore. I’m so glad that we chose you and I know we have the best wedding photos and had the best photographers in the world!  Nicole & Jeromey’

We love our wedding photographs! You have exceeded our expectations with your creativity and skill in capturing our day so beautifully.  Amy & Daniel

If I could offer one word of advice for couples embarking on the journey of wedding planning it would be this. Choose your photographer wisely. I thought it would be impossible to recreate the emotions I felt on my wedding day. With the amount of time, planning, effort & love that goes into your wedding day it’s easy to feel like it was all a dream when it is over.

As soon as we saw our images I was catapulted right back to our day. The nervous anticipation, the overwhelming joy, the tears and the laughter. Deb & Dave managed to capture everything I was feeling at the time. Perfectly. I love my wedding photos. To the moon and back. Twice. So does everyone else.  The most difficult part of working with you two is deciding which pictures to get framed. I cannot recommend Deborah De Graaf Photography highly enough. Book them!  Jacqui & Scott

About Deborah de Graaf Photography

Our Story

Hi Debs and Dave here. As you can probably tell we love photography.

Why?

Well, apart from it being heaps of fun with endless possibilities for creative expression, it also has the unique ability to capture a story, a moment, an emotion.  It captures life in all its beauty and struggles and we love being able to tell these stories through photography.

Using our camera, we can capture your story.  We love getting the natural and spontaneous moments that uniquely tell the story that is you.  To help you to get to know us better, here is some of our story..

We love marriage.  We love being married.  We love photographing two people getting married.

We think that is pretty cool that we can do something we love together, giving two perspectives to tell one story.

Debs is a big fan of chai lattes, Dave likes anything with sugar in it.

We love getting out into nature.  Dave is home when in the surf.

We love to travel.  Especially to developing countries and off the beaten track.   We feel so blessed that our passion for story telling has given us the opportunity to meet and photograph some amazing, beautiful people courageously living in desperate situations.  This is has become an important part of what we do.

We love to photograph using natural light.

Debs has an old banjo-ukulele that she loves playing.  Albeit with only a few chords. Dave thinks its pretty hick.

We grow a few of our own (organic) vegies. Though they seem to flourish better without our care.

Debs loves White Eyes, Fantails, Tuis and yes, we even have a bird feeder in the garden {like a Nana would have}.

We love perusing through old second-hand and antique stores. So many interesting and quirky things.  Makes for great inspiration.

We want to live life to the full.  Not wasting a moment.

So, if you like what you have seen and read so far, we would love to chat with you more about how together we can tell your story. So contact us today at deb@deborahdegraaf.co.nz. Or to see more samples of our wedding, portrait and other photography, visit our website www.deborahdegraaf.co.nz

Landscape Photography: Antarctica

Dave had the amazing opportunity to photography down at Scott Base, Antarctica.  He was able to get some photographs of the stunning landscape from both the ground and from the air. Once back we were able to process the photographs in much more manageable temperatures!
